Practical training
Practical activity is one of the main stages of training qualified mid-level medical professionals who are competitive in the modern market.
The purpose of practical training is the comprehensive development of all types of professional activities by students, the deepening of theoretical knowledge, the improvement of practical and communication skills, the formation of basic and professional competencies.
The organization, planning and conducting of practical training is carried out on the basis of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Education", the State Mandatory Standard of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan., Order of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 20, 2024 No. 108 "On Amendments to the Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 29, 2016 No. 107 "On Approval of the Rules for Organizing and Conducting Professional Practice and the Rules for Defining Enterprises (organizations) as practice bases for organizations of technical and vocational, post-secondary education" , dated 28.01.2016, No. 93 "On approval of the forms of a standard agreement for the provision of educational services and a standard agreement for professional practice", Order of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 31, 2022 No. 385 "On approval of Standard Rules for the activities of organizations of preschool, primary, basic secondary, general secondary, technical and vocational, post-secondary education, specialized, special, educational organizations for orphans and children left without parental care, organizations of additional education for children and adults." Based on these orders, the "Rules for the organization and conduct of professional practice for students of the Balkhash Medical College" were developed and approved
Professional practice is divided into educational, industrial, and pre-graduate.
Educational practice is conducted in preclinical and simulation rooms, laboratories under the guidance of a teacher of general professional and special disciplines. It is aimed at developing students' practical professional skills and acquiring initial practical experience. At the beginning of the academic year, a schedule of practical classes in all specialties is drawn up. For practical training, the academic group is divided into two subgroups. Enrollment in special and general professional disciplines provides for the division of groups into subgroups of no more than 15 students. The duration of practical training is 6 hours. Students work in classrooms at individual workstations, each of which is equipped with teaching aids, manipulation algorithms, and workbooks. Taking into account the peculiarities of teaching professional modules, the teachers of our college use both game and non-game methods of active learning in the classroom: simulation on a simulator, role-playing, business games, exercises, algorithm actions, situational problem solving, research method, etc.
The next stage of professional practice is complemented by industrial and postgraduate practices. The practice in the specialty profile is aimed at the formation of students' general and professional competencies, the acquisition of practical experience. Depending on the specialty, students complete internships at medical organizations in the city (practice bases). Clinical practice is conducted in medical organizations under the guidance of a trained mentor in workplaces provided by employers on a contractual basis, and is aimed at developing professional competencies.
During the production and pre-graduate internship, students keep a "Practice Diary", which includes the student's data, the place of internship, the data of the internship supervisors, the criteria for evaluating the production practice, the content and volume of work performed, a table of the digital report of proven skills and student feedback on the internship. In addition, each student oversees the patient during the internship and reflects the results of treatment and care in the educational records of illness (childbirth).
Professional practice is conducted at the Ministry of Defense of the city at workplaces corresponding to the profile of the specialty provided by employers on the basis of a contract, and is aimed at the formation of professional competencies. Graduate students can be enrolled in vacant positions of nursing staff in hospitals during their internship.
The material and technical base includes classrooms and laboratories equipped in accordance with modern requirements, 2 computer rooms for 30 workstations, 1 medical center, a library with 30 seats, a reading room equipped with the latest generation of computers (with Internet access) and an electronic catalog, a book depository, sports, gym and assembly halls and a dining room for 100 seats.
Conditions have been created in the offices for the formation of basic professional competencies necessary for the activities of an average medical professional. The design of all offices is as close as possible to the workplace of the future specialist. The college has 21 preclinical practice rooms and 2 laboratories, 1 simulation pharmacy, 9 simulation rooms in the college's practical skills center, and 4 rooms at medical organizations (Balkhash Multidisciplinary Hospital, Balkhash Polyclinic No. 2, Balkhash Pharmacy, Balkhashstomatology).
In order to create optimal conditions for conducting all types of practical training and providing students with individual jobs for industrial / clinical and professional practices, contracts have been concluded with 9 medical pharmaceutical organizations of the city and the region. The agreements define the content and forms of joint work, as well as mutual requirements for training specialists for healthcare institutions in the region and the city.
The following medical organizations are the bases for internship:
1. KGP "Multidisciplinary hospital of the city of Balkhash";
2. KGP "Polyclinic No. 2 of the city of Balkhash;
3. Balkhash Pharmacy LLP;
4. Balkhashstomatology LLP;
5. Kadar LLP
6. KGP " Regional hospital" of the Shetsky district;
7. KGP "Regional hospital" of Aktogay district;
8. KGP "City hospital" Priozersk.
9. RSU "Balkhash city department of sanitary and epidemiological control of the Karaganda region"
