College History
The history of the medical college of Balkhash began in 1952, when, by the decision of the Ministry of Health Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan and on the instructions of the regional health department, due to the lack of secondary medical personnel, a medical school was opened in Balkhash, a young city of metallurgists.
The director of the school was appointed a doctor Maksunova M.A. the school did not have its own premises, it was necessary to rent the area first in the Gorky Secondary School No. 1. The first set consisted of 30 teachers. There were no full-time teachers, the training was conducted by part-timers. The training period is 10 months.
In 1953, the school was transformed into a college with a period of study of 2 years. In the same year, a second set of 60 people was made in the specialty: "Nurse". Averbukh Ya.I. was appointed Director.
In 1956, the "Paramedic department" was opened. Three full-time teachers appeared (Chernykh S.A., Chernyago L.F., Myagkova N.F.). The material base of the school was strengthened from year to year, the number of full-time teachers grew. The staff felt the need to expand the training area, and with the help of the efforts of the city authorities, the active asceticism of the former director Selyukova T.P., who came in 1963 to replace Averbukh Ya.I., the school received a new standard two-story building in 1972. In 1980, the school became one of the best in Kazakhstan. This year, the student body has reached 650 people, the staff of teachers has grown to 22 people.
